The district’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program’s next testing cycle takes place Jan. 7–8, 2016, and requests for student testing must be submitted by December 1, 2015.<\/p>\n

Children in grades kindergarten through 11 who reside within district boundaries and are homeschooled, attending a private school, or who may have transferred to another district are eligible to be tested for the GATE program.<\/p>\n

The district GATE program is strongly aligned to state GATE program standards at the elementary level; with advanced, honors, and advanced placement coursework offered at the secondary level. Classroom instruction by trained educators is designed to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of gifted students. This instructional support provides the necessary challenge for gifted students to reach their full potential, which often extends beyond advanced levels of district and state standards.<\/p>\n
