Two local residents won spots in the finals for KaraokeFest’s Crème de la Tributes and Crème de la Kids contests during qualifying events on July 10 held on Historic Main Street in Garden Grove. <\/p>\n

They now will compete at KaraokeFest 2016 presented by Karaoke Scene Magazine at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona on Sept. 17.<\/p>\n

They now will compete at KaraokeFest 2016 presented by Karaoke Scene Magazine at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona on Sept. 17.<\/p>\n

She performed the song Tomorrow from the musical “Annie” in the kids contest, which is for ages 17 years and younger, and then sang Part of Your World as Ariel from the “The Little Mermaid” in the tributes division which is for music impersonations of celebrities or famous characters.<\/p>\n

Deirdre Harp of Garden Grove qualified for the finals in the Crème de la Tributes after performing as Stevie Nicks singing Just Like the White Winged Dove.<\/p>\n

At the Los Angeles County Fair, they will vie for cash awards, trophies and other prizes.<\/p>\n

The qualifying rounds continue for three more Sundays in July: July 24 and 31 and are held in conjunction with the Local Harvest Farmers Market which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  <\/p>\n

Signups for the Crème de la Kids is from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with singing starting at 11 a.m. Tributes can register from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and their contest starts at 1 p.m.  Five finalists from each division are selected each date to vie at the finals.   There is a $5 registration fee, but it is free to attend and watch the performances.<\/p>\n
