\n\tGarden Grove's Historic Main Street is sporting a new café: the MotorSport Cafe.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tThe Café, which replaces the former Yaba Java, features all sorts of goodies for car buffs as well as a good cup of Joe and healthy foods.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tChances are, for those who attend the regular Friday-night car-shows on Main Street will want to check this place out. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tThe owner, Al Shoga, said when his parents, who owned Yaba Java for 15 years, retired, Shoga changed the interior atmosphere and set-up, giving it a new theme, decor and style, along with new staff.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tThe cafe has been created with space inside for working on industrial-metal tables and chairs. It also has Wi-Fi, music and a TV that displays car information for the car enthusiasts.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\t“The cafe came out of a passion for cars and a love for coffee,” Shoga said. “It's a place to come get coffee and hang out.”<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tThe cafe has been transformed in such a manner because of Shoga's love for classic American and European cars; he works on cars and his brother is a mechanic who not only works on cars but builds hot rods.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tFor the past two years, Shoga has been working to restore a 1974 BMW 3.0 CS, which he plans to display Friday, Oct. 11, at the grand opening of the MotorSport Cafe.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tAs a doctor of internal medicine, Shoga said his main goal at MotorSport is to serve healthy food.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tShoga said being in the medical field, he sees obesity and that was his drive to create a “grub and go” with healthy foods. He is working to build a healthy menu with the use of wholesome ingredients that create dishes that are low in fat and calories. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tAnd then there’s the specialty of Gelato that is more healthy than regular ice cream because some of the Gelato doesn't have dairy and it contains natural ingredients such as strawberries and pistachios. <\/font><\/p>\n

\n\t“It's very exciting but a lot of work to build up to my ideal that I have in my mind; it's a work in progress,” Shoga said. “My parents are very supportive and are enjoying relaxing in their retirement.”<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tShoga moved with his family to the U.S. from Amman, Jordan; they moved right to Garden Grove at Trask and Magnolia. He attended Westminster High School and Cal State Fullerton, graduating with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\t“It's been quite a journey,” he said.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tThe menu contains “The world's greatest” Espresso, classic and flavor-roasted coffee, hot beverages, blended and iced drinks, bottled drinks, Gelato, pastries, Paninis, salads, falafels and whole wheat bagels.<\/font><\/p>\n

\n\tThe whole-wheat bagels have received rave-reviews and MotorSport is being touted by customers as an immediate benefit to downtown Main Street.<\/font><\/p>\n
