\n\tNever doubt that there are budding artists in Garden Grove.<\/p>\n

\n\tSix students in three different  schools in Garden Grove took home top honors for their artistic endeavors Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe event was part of the annual Festival of Arts\/PIMCO Foundation awards ceremony in Laguna Beach.<\/p>\n

\n\tSix students in three different  schools in Garden Grove took home top honors for their artistic endeavors Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe event was part of the annual Festival of Arts\/PIMCO Foundation awards ceremony in Laguna Beach.<\/p>\n

\n\tNearly 85 students from throughout Orange County, received gold, silver and bronze medals, awarded in three categories: photography and two-and-three dimensional artwork. Sunday's recipients were selected from the top 300 students, who were chosen from 6,000 students who entered the competition.<\/p>\n

\n\tThere were honorable mentions for postcard artists as well.<\/p>\n

\n\tGarden Grove winners were: Raymond Lam, from Lawrence Elementary School, who received a bronze for his "Martin Luther King" art; three Patton  Elementary School students won awards: they were Kaitlyn Nguyen, for her "Pearl Magnificent," Kayli Counts, for "Color Turtle," and Samantha Ghobrial for "Blue Jay Beauty;" and Samantha was also a postcard artist; Jessica Bui from Carrillo Elementary School in Garden Grove received a bronze for her "Look at Me" art piece and Justina Bui was one of the postcard artists with her "Ginger Jar."<\/p>\n

\n\tThere was one winner from Westminster; that was Judy Nguyen, a 12th grader at La Quinta High School in Westminster; she received a "Silver Medal" for her "Mickey and Minnie" photo.<\/p>\n

\n\tAll artwork is being displayed through the end of August at the Junior Art Exhibit in Laguna Beach, at 650 Laguna Canyon Rd.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter the awards were presented and group-photos taken of the students, they were treated to ice cream and drinks from Gina's, located on Pacific Coast Highway.<\/p>\n

\n\tFor the past six years, the Festival of Arts has partnered with the PIMCO Foundation, in order to make the awards program possible.<\/p>\n
