\n\tThe Garden Grove High girls volleyball team improved to 9-0 las week after it finished off yet another perfect week, which saw the team secure the Garden Grove league title.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Argonauts started off the week with another stellar 3-0 win against La Quinta High on Oct. 28, with set scores of 25-9, 29-27, and 25-11.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn fact, the Argos have delivered 3-0 set victories throughout the regular season and throughout the month of October.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Argonauts started off the week with another stellar 3-0 win against La Quinta High on Oct. 28, with set scores of 25-9, 29-27, and 25-11.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn fact, the Argos have delivered 3-0 set victories throughout the regular season and throughout the month of October.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe last time the Argos lost a set was in their final preseason match against Kennedy High on Sept. 30, which saw the Argos walk out with a 3-2 set victory.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith the league title already secured at the beginning of last week, the Argos did not let their undefeated form slip up during their match against Los Amigos High just two days later.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Argos rolled over the Lobos in three sets 25-22, 25-16, and 25-13, on Oct. 30 at Garden Grove High.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe victory extended the Argos' win streak to 19 in overall competitions and places them just one win away from a perfect season. The last time the Argos were 9-0 in league competitions was back in 2009.<\/p>\n

\n\tTheir final match of the regular season was against Santiago High on Nov. 4 at Garden Grove High. The match occurred after press time.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe last time the Argos played Santiago they did not let the Cavaliers score more than 15 points in a single set.<\/p>\n

\n\tSantiago, who is 6-3, is a huge underdog going into this week’s match, and the team will need to stay organized in the backline if it is going to stop the Argos’ high powered offense.<\/p>\n

\n\tLeading the charge for the Argos will be their senior outside hitter Lauga Gauta who has played outstanding throughout the season and she is only getting better.<\/p>\n

\n\tStanding at 6-foot-1, Gauta has been the Argos most consistent and accurate hitter, and she has torn apart every team that the Argos have faced.<\/p>\n

\n\tGauta’s vertical leap is one of the reasons the senior hitter has had so much success so far. She easily out-jumps everyone on her squad and still has yet to face a team that can consistently dig out her hits.<\/p>\n

\n\tGauta rounds out a well-organized Garden Grove squad that has yet to falter in form, which is in part due to their coach, Frankie Perales.<\/p>\n

\n\tPerales has been coaching for more than 16 years with four of those as the girls' head coach and he has won back to back CIF championships with the boys volleyball team.<\/p>\n

\n\tPerales’ championship experience has given the Lady Argonauts squad the inside edge so far and they are looking like contenders for this year’s CIF title.<\/p>\n

\n\tGoing into the final stages of the season the Argos are ranked fourth and will be looking to etch their name in the school’s record books when they look to improve to 20-0 this week.<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite the outcome of the game this week one thing is for sure: no school will be looking forward to facing the Argos in the first round of the playoffs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
