\n\tThe Boys & Girls Club of Garden Grove is one of three sites in the United States selected to be a "Giving Partner" with Toms Shoes to distribute new shoes to less fortunate children.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe shoes will be distributed at 15 boys & girls clubs in Orange County.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Boys & Girls Club of Garden Grove is one of three sites in the United States selected to be a "Giving Partner" with Toms Shoes to distribute new shoes to less fortunate children.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe shoes will be distributed at 15 boys & girls clubs in Orange County.<\/p>\n

\n\t"While we were a direct recipient of shoes the past two years, we are honored to be asked to be a 'Giving Partner' this year," said Boys & Girls Club Venture Programs Director Andrew Halberstadt. "Being a Giving Partner means that we have the opportunity to connect with our neighboring boys & girls clubs and give children in need a new pair of shoes."<\/p>\n

\n\tHalberstadt said that each club site determines its own needs for shoes and sends the Boys & Girls Club of Garden Grove its wish list and when the lists arrive, the staff gets busy filling the requests for distribution.<\/p>\n

\n\t"We have already distributed several thousand pairs of new shoes," said Halberstadt. "Toms commitment has been to continue to send shoes as the children grow. Shoes are traditionally tennis shoe-styles, which children can wear to school, use in playing sports or on the playground," he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tHalberstadt explained that when a person purchases new shoes from Toms, Toms then donates a new pair of shoes for the less fortunate.<\/p>\n

\n\t"The impact of a new pair of shoes is powerful because children need to feel good about themselves and a pair of new shoes goes a long way toward building self-esteem for a child who might never have owned a new pair of shoes," he said.<\/p>\n

\n\t"BGCGG is incredibly grateful for Toms in helping children in need and for making a difference in the community and we look forward to working with Toms in the future," Halberstadt said.<\/p>\n

\n\tBoys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove is a non-profit organization that serves 6,000 youth and teens each day and 16,000 a year at 60 sites in eight communities.<\/p>\n
