And there doesn't seem to be any end in sight.

Could we see an all-Garden Grove finals in CIF playoff action?

Who knows?

One thing's for sure: our teams are peaking at the right time.

The Pacifica High softball team scored three runs in the first inning and never let Long Beach Poly into the game as they Mariners rolled to an 8-0 win in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs last Thursday at Pacifica.

The Pacifica High softball team scored three runs in the first inning and never let Long Beach Poly into the game as they Mariners rolled to an 8-0 win in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs last Thursday at Pacifica.

Hannah Boos pitched seven innings, scattering six hits with seven strikeouts. Junior Hannah Martinez was 3 for 3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored. Irieanna Naea was 2 for 3 with a home run, double, two RBI and two runs scored. Jaymee Campbell, Dejah Mulipola and Alison Seng also drove in runs for the Mariners

In other softball news, Garden Grove High beat Flintridge Sacred Heart in the first round of playoffs

Sophomore pitcher Olivia Candelas pitched a five inning three-hitter to help the Garden Grove softball team to a 12-1 win over Flintridge in the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs last Thursday at Garden Grove High.

Senior Alyssa Fernandez was 3 for 3 with three RBI to lead the offense. Sophomore Andrea Corrigan drove in three runs as well. The Argonauts advanced to the second round.
