At an awards ceremony recently, past Elk-Ender (the Garden Grove Elks RV Camping Club) president Sherrie Larson received an award from Exalted Ruler Bill O’Hearn for the club’s contribution of $2,000 to the Elk’s charity known as “The Purple Pig.”
At an awards ceremony recently, past Elk-Ender (the Garden Grove Elks RV Camping Club) president Sherrie Larson received an award from Exalted Ruler Bill O’Hearn for the club’s contribution of $2,000 to the Elk’s charity known as “The Purple Pig.”
The “Purple Pig Charity” aids families with children in need of costly treatment and ancillary services that are unaffordable for the parents or guardians. The charity is made-up of all Elks lodges in California and Hawaii.
The funds were raised by various activities and functions such as a three day Halloween campout and rally, off-road family events such as their semi-annual Poker-run in addition to many local activities.
