Supervisor Janet Nguyen, who represents Garden Grove and Westminster in the First District, has been reappointed to serve on the 2012-2013 National Association of Counties’ Community and Economic Development Steering Committee.
This reappointment marks the second time that Supervisor Nguyen will serve on this committee.
Supervisor Janet Nguyen, who represents Garden Grove and Westminster in the First District, has been reappointed to serve on the 2012-2013 National Association of Counties’ Community and Economic Development Steering Committee.
This reappointment marks the second time that Supervisor Nguyen will serve on this committee.
The NACo Community and Economic Development Steering Committee focuses on setting NACo policies related to general community issues involving to housing, public works, as well as community and economic development. Some areas of special focus are affordable housing, commercial, residential, and industrial development along with building and housing codes.
As a member of the Community and Economic Development Steering Committee, Supervisor Nguyen is also a member of the two Housing and Economic Development subcommittees which deal with housing programs, public works, community and economic development, residential, commercial, and industrial development, as well as housing and building codes.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to represent the County of Orange on the NACCO Community and Economic Development Steering Committee,” said Nguyen. “Community and economic development planning efforts are of critical importance and I look forward to working alongside county leaders from across the country on these issues.”
