The Westminster High baseball team had a rough outing last week and skidded into a two-game losing draught.

These loses occurred at the hands of the top teams in the Golden West League standings, which dropped Westminster out of contention. First, it suffered a 7-3 loss to Oceanview, which then shared with the Lions the No. 2 spot in the standings. Then, on Friday, April 11, Westminster fell to frontrunner Loara by the score of 8-5.

First, it suffered a 7-3 loss to Oceanview, which then shared with the Lions the No. 2 spot in the standings. Then, on Friday, April 11, Westminster fell to frontrunner Loara by the score of 8-5.

The Lions (5-10, 2-3) dropped to fifth place while Oceanview (3-2)  now sits in a three-way tie for second place with Segerstrom and Orange.

Westminster will have a chance to get back into the race. After all, it will face Segerstrom, which it already beat once in league play, in a two-game series. The first contest will take place today, April 16 at Westminster. The game will start at 3 p.m.

Westminster defeated Segerstrom during their first meeting by the score of 2-1.
