The City of Garden Grove’s C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) program will host a month-long training academy every Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., from April 2 to graduation on April 23 at the North Net Fire Training Center at 2400 Orangewood Ave. in Anaheim.

The City of Garden Grove’s C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team) program will host a month-long training academy every Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., from April 2 to graduation on April 23 at the North Net Fire Training Center at 2400 Orangewood Ave. in Anaheim.

C.E.R.T. is a volunteer organization with the Garden Grove Fire Department that provides free community training on how to prepare for, respond to and recover from a disaster.  C.E.R.T. members are also trained to help augment first responders in the event of a disaster.  

C.E.R.T. training topics include disaster preparedness, medical operations, I.C.S. (Incident Command System), fire safety, light search and rescue, medical operations, terrorism and disaster psychology. C.E.R.T. participants must be at least 18 years old and live and/or work in Garden Grove.

The City of Garden Grove’s C.E.R.T. program (Community Emergency Response Team) is also offering a CPR, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification class for $25, on Saturday, April 30 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The certification will be through EMS Safety Services, Inc.
