Garden Grove City Manager Scott Stiles last week announced the appointment of Teresa Pomeroy as the new City Clerk.
Pomeroy, who currently serves as Deputy City Clerk, officially begins her new position on Jan. 1, 2017, following the retirement of Kathy Bailor, on Dec. 31, 2016.
“I’m confident Terri will easily transition into her new role as City Clerk, having gained the experience of working alongside our last two City Clerks. The high degree of professionalism and work ethic she possesses will serve the city well,” said Stiles.

Pomeroy is a 25-year veteran of the city, starting her career in the Public Works Department. She worked in several city departments, including finance, community services and the former Community Development Department before becoming Deputy City Clerk in 2007.
“Having served the city in many different roles over many years, I feel this is the right place and the right time for me to move forward in my career. I’m eager to serve my community as Garden Grove’s seventh City Clerk,” said Pomeroy.
A 34-year Garden Grove resident, Pomeroy and her husband, Bob, have three grown children. She is a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks and the Southern California City Clerk’s Association, as well as a certified municipal clerk. She holds an Associate of Science Degree and Certificate in Business from Coastline Community College.
