The City of Stanton celebrated National Night Out and kicked off its Summer Concert Series on Aug. 4 at Stanton Central Park. The two-part event began at 5 p.m. with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Orange County Fire Authority cutting the commemorative cake.

After enjoying the cake, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Orange County Fire Authority and paramedics participated in community-building activities to help strengthen police-community partnerships. Children and adults had an opportunity to meet and interact with law enforcement deputies, explore first responder vehicles, look and touch SWAT equipment and take pictures with the city’s local heroes.

When the clock struck 6 p.m., the city kicked off its Summer Concert Series with The Smokin’ Cobras playing hits from the 50s through the 80s. Many danced, cheered and sang along with the band.
