 The Violence Prevention Coalition of Orange County has recognized Sgt. John Reynolds of the Garden Grove Police Department along with two Assembly members and four other county workers for their outstanding contributions and commitment to the prevention of violence.

 The Violence Prevention Coalition of Orange County has recognized Sgt. John Reynolds of the Garden Grove Police Department along with two Assembly members and four other county workers for their outstanding contributions and commitment to the prevention of violence.

The other 2013 recipients are: Assembly members Sharon Quirk-Silva and Pam Keller; Kerith L. Dilley, executive director, Orange County Family Justice Center Foundation; Paul Henisey, chief of police, University of Irvine, California; Steve Kim, program specialist, Orange County Department of Education; Jim Perez, manager, Orange County Department of Education.

The Violence Prevention Coalition of Orange County was established in 1996, and is the only county-wide affiliation of businesses, community organizations, public and private agencies and individuals seeking to promote violence prevention through a public health model.

The mission and goals of the coalition are to promote the health and wellness of communities by reducing violence, changing community norms by establishing non-violence as a desired behavior, and fostering communication and collaboration among community members, stakeholders and agencies currently addressing violence in Orange County.
