Holy Cross Lutheran Church announced the Sunday Serenades Inaugural Season opening concert on Sunday, Oct. 7. It will start at 4 p.m.
Artist Grace Lee, a soprano singer, will perform ”Love is…,” a program that explores the many moods of love. The concert will being with “Quandome’n Vo’,” Anna Netrebko Musetta’s famous aria expressing the flirtatious side of love from Giacomo Puccini’s opera “La Boheme.” The program also includes works by Robert Schumann, Benjamin Britten, Enrique Granados, and Leonard Bernstein.

Lee has performed as a soloist with the Cypress Masterworks Chorale, the city of Yorba Linda’s annual production of George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah,” the Huntington Beach Symphony, the Golden State Pops Orchestra, and the Chamber Players of LosAngeles. She has created music with choruses from across the country and remains a member of the 45-voice ensemble known as “Meritage and the Euterpe Opera Ensemble.
Lee studied with Dr. Louis Bennett and Dr. Nicole Baker and continues her vocal studies with professor Patricia Prunty.

The series will continue on Dec. 2 with “A Victorian Christmas,” featuring The Starlight Carolers as directed by Dr. Sheridan Ball (formerly of Cypress College) and a Victorian Tea.

The series will then continue after the New Year. On Feb. 10, 2013, piano duo “Benetatos and Klein” will take the stage. The series will conclude April 14, 2013, with The McKinley String Quartet.
