Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast a super success

The Stanton Community Foundation, in cooperation with the city of Stanton, hosted the fifth annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on March 27.

The event was held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Knott’s Berry Farm Resort Hotel. This event brought together over 260 guests, including local organizations, schools, businesses and civic and religious leaders from the Orange County communities including Bishop Kevin Vann from the Diocese of Orange, elected state officials and council members from neighboring cities.

The Stanton Community Foundation, in cooperation with the city of Stanton, hosted the fifth annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on March 27.

The event was held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Knott’s Berry Farm Resort Hotel. This event brought together over 260 guests, including local organizations, schools, businesses and civic and religious leaders from the Orange County communities including Bishop Kevin Vann from the Diocese of Orange, elected state officials and council members from neighboring cities.

The breakfast included a performance from the Magnolia High School Chamber Singers and the presentation of Colors by the Magnolia High School ROTC. This year’s featured guest speaker, Father Greg Boyle, is the founder and executive director of Homeboy Industries, the largest gang intervention, rehabilitation and re-entry program in the United States.

Overall, the program was a great success and more than $27,000 was raised to fund the Stanton Community Foundation’s youth programs. All of the money donated will be put toward the foundation’s community and youth programs.
