Garden Grove Mayor helped plant a new pepper tree at Elizabeth Lane and Stanford Avenue last week.

The previous, 80-year-old pepper tree, named Elizabeth, had to be cut down because it was stricken with a wood-decaying disease that destroyed its interior.

It's all part of an effort to beautify Garden Grove.
