The recent Pajama Story time, lead by children's librarian Lindsay Klick, was followed by children coloring an "I am painting" of themselves, with colored pencils.

Stanton resident Andrew Baker, with 5-month-old daughter Anabelle, participated in the evening story time. "We usually come here every Tuesday.”

Grandmother Sheila Klick, from Huntington Beach, said story time gives her more time with her grandchildren before their mother takes them home.

Grandmother Sheila Klick, from Huntington Beach, said story time gives her more time with her grandchildren before their mother takes them home.

The library offers several story times for various ages, starting with Tuesdays, when there is "Baby Lapsit Storytime" from 10:30 to 11 a.m. and "Pajama Storytime" from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

Other story times are Wednesday for pre-schoolers from 10:30 to 11 a.m.. The first Monday of each month from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. is story time designed for children on the Autism spectrum, before the library is open to the general public, so the atmosphere will be quiet for the children (those attending need to knock for the door to be opened).

The Baby Lapsit  program has stories for early literacy that include music and movement for babies and toddlers with their parents and/or caregivers.

Preschool stories have a theme for children 3-5 years old accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Pajama stories are for the whole family to experience together and then complete a craft; PJ's are optional attire so the little ones can be ready for sleep time when they get home.

Story times are also taught in Spanish. There's a writer's circle, beginning e-mail class and book clubs for adults and coloring for adults,  as well as book clubs for children.

Library hours include: Monday and Tuesday noon. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is closed on Friday and Sunday.
