Members of the well renowned Garden Grove Elks Lodge, demonstrated their patriotism toward our country and respect for the veterans that have served our nation so well in the past, as well as to those who serve now while on active or reserve duty.

The Lodge members manned the barbecued food booth at the Veterans Day festivities at Long Beach California Veterans Hospital.

Approximately 2,000 people including veterans and their families attended the function which was hosted by many organizations that serve veterans and their families with booths and necessary services including dental exams, K-9 information (therapy dogs), haircuts and styling among them.

Hamburgers, hot dogs and chips were provided by the Garden Grove Elks. Volunteer Elks and Emblem Club Ladies from the Lodge cooked and served nearly 600 people. The line was long, but moved quickly.

In addition to this Veteran’s Day function; the Garden Grove Elks go to the Long Beach Veterans Hospital twice yearly to provide and cook steak dinners for the disabled veterans who are hospitalized.
