The Travel Channel and the World Poker Tour have popularized the “hold-em” game of poker. Whether you are an experienced player or a novice, you can test your skills in a fun-filled charity event right here in Garden Grove. Players need not be experienced!
Event organizers would like to invite you to enter a team of eight players into this tournament. Cost per single player is $40. A $300 donation will be accepted for a team of eight players. This is a fundraiser for the Miss Garden Grove Scholarship Pageant and the Garden Grove Lions Club.
Your donation will provide food and entry into the tournament. Prizes will be given to the first, second and third place winners.
The winning team (the last team to have three players remaining in the game) will receive a trophy and a $300 contribution to the 501(c)(3) charity or local-non profit group of their choice.
A light dinner will be served at 5 p.m. and card play will begin at 6 p.m. A no-host bar, including mixed drinks, sodas and coffee will be available for a minimal donation. All players will be given several opportunities to “re-buy” additional chips for a $20 donation during the evening.
Betting will be programmed (details to follow for entrants) and play will conclude at approximately 11 p.m.
Entries are limited to the first nine teams (72 players maximum). If you don’t want to be left out, submit your check right away.
