Everywhere the eye could see, there were dogs of all sizes in adorable Halloween costumes.

Each year, there are doggie games, a photo booth, goodies for the dogs and their owners, prizes and a doggie costume parade, with lots of fun in the back yard of the facility.

It was a great event for everyone, with bobbing for hot dogs in gravy water for the dogs and lots of homemade doggie treats.

At Crossroads, Doggie Daycare provides an alternative to leaving a pet alone in the house during the day.

Owner A.M. Collins said that dogs are sociable animals and that the daycare provides an opportunity for a pet to be part of a pack where it can enjoy interacting and playing with other dogs.

"After playing all day, your best friend will be ready to settle down at home for a relaxing evening," said Collins. "For dogs that suffer from anxiety when left alone, daycare can be a great help for both dog and owner."
Collins said at Crossroads, dogs are grouped by an accredited trainer who pairs them with dogs of similar size, age, and temperament, making sure tiny dogs don't feel overwhelmed surrounded by larger dogs.

"We want dogs to feel safe and comfortable in their play groups and we work to make sure dogs that are social, are paired with an appropriate dog as their friend," Collins said.

"Each dog is given a social test, evaluating them for overall temperament toward people, objects and space, before being accepted into the daycare program," she said. "The tests are administered by one of our accredited dog trainers performed by appointment only.
