At the Garden Grove Community Foundation’s final summer concert, the winner of The Voice of Garden Grove was chosen among four local high school students.

At the Garden Grove Community Foundation’s final summer concert, the winner of The Voice of Garden Grove was chosen among four local high school students.

The Voice of Garden Grove and $500 prize winner was Heather Leach from Pacifica High School. Leach performed “Bound to You” by Christina Aguilera. Also presented was a check for $500 toward Pacifica High School’s choral program accepted by David Joseph, Pacifica’s choir teacher.

Crystal Salinas from Santiago High School was announced runner-up and received a $250 cash prize. Salinas sang “Hallelujah,” written by Leonard Cohen. Another check for $250 was given to Santiago High School’s choral program accepted by Na-Young Moon, Santiago’s choir teacher.

The students were scored on 100-point scale by six judges, including Garden Grove City Councilman and President of the Garden Grove Community Foundation Steve Jones.

The Garden Grove Community Foundation supports education and the arts in the community. The Voice of Garden Grove is a way for the foundation to provide performance and scholarship opportunities to local high school student.
