Jack Minh Terry, a Life Scout in Troop 167, with the assistance of 45 volunteers in his community, recently created a Natural Habitat and Sanctuary at Garden Grove Park.

Natural habitats have been destroyed or affected by urbanization, pollution, as well as by the use of pesticides and other chemicals.

Jack wanted to provide a suitable home for California native plants and pollinators such as butterflies, bees and birds. Since these creatures pollinate one-third of our crops, we need to protect them.

Jack wanted to provide a suitable home for California native plants and pollinators such as butterflies, bees and birds. Since these creatures pollinate one-third of our crops, we need to protect them.

The volunteers created a garden for pollinators, built a fence, created a walkway, built a sign and spread mulch over 200 square feet of space.

Pack 75 adopted the park to support Jack in his legacy to create a protected area for conserving species and natural habitats.
