"Azteca Restaurant salutes the 20th anniversary of Orange County' longest-running Friday Night car show, by sponsoring Orange County's Best Elvis Tribute artists to entertain the community throughout August," said Azteca Owner Jennifer Stewart.

Trophies are awarded each week at the car show, along with drawings for prizes and a 50/50. Door prizes are given to attending guests, while trophies are awarded to car participants.

Along with viewing wonderfully-restored vintage vehicles, there's entertainment out in the open, food and beverages and vendors offering a variety of unique products.

Friday evenings are an opportunity for car enthusiasts to share not only their vehicles but restoration stories and a chance for the community to enjoy being outside in the summer weather and visit and renew friendships old and new

An excerpt from Scott Weimer's "Garden Grove then and now:"

"Garden Grove was born on Main Street, and for a street that’s in its third century, it’s a pretty lively place… Our community was carved out of raw land in 1874 along a one-block stretch of dirt road that housed its first store, church, post office and school and over the years, Garden Grove has grown to a population of nearly175,000 people, but its heart remains in its small and fascinating downtown area.

"This is the place where you can revisit community history and also enjoy contemporary dining, entertainment and a wide variety of services. Main Street, as a downtown, remains a block long, packing a lot of appeal into small spaces.

"Several buildings are more than 100 years old, with the mood friendly and the pace relaxed.

"You can travel back in time by buying classic sodas, get a tasty hamburger at Kaye’s Kitchen, or enjoy a steak at Doug’s Downtown Grille.

"More of a night owl?  There’s fine wine and beer at The Globe Gastropub or Louie’s on Main. Fancy some authentic Mexican food and Cerveza? Try the Azteca and its adjacent Crooner’s Lounge…  or pick up some fine pastries and coffee at Motor Sports café.

"Elsewhere on the street, you can get a haircut, groom your dog, buy or sell a house, get your taxes done and learn to dance.

Sunday's, there’s a Farmers Market featuring local produce and lots of other items.

"Enjoy live theater? Main Street has The Gem Theatre, which dates back to the vaudeville acts of the 1920s, is now the cozy home to One More Productions, an actor’s ensemble group that produces an incredible ongoing lineup of musical, drama and comedy performances and just north of the Gem is the Festival Amphitheater, with the resident Shakespeare Orange County troupe and other events.

"The Village Green Park, where the Strawberry Festival is held, at Main and Euclid Street is the descendent of the original Euclid Park. In addition to wide-open spaces for play and sports, it has a children’s play area.

"Main Street is also surrounded by newer and larger enterprises, too.

"We invite everyone to come out and enjoy August on Historic Main Street," concluded Weimer.
