The Orange Empire Barbershop Chorus' Garden Grove members Don Brewer, Lloyd Jones, and Sam Glorioso, along with Westminster member Chuck Becker lended their voices to the other 101-or-so- members of the chorus from throughout Orange County Friday and  Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6, at the La Habra Community Center, 101 W. La Habra Blvd.

It was "Christmas Cabaret Capers" at its finest and as usual, the chorus and quartet members not only sang their way through holiday music with imaginative antics – they are the servers of the dinner before their group performance – but quartets made their way to the tables to serenade guests.

In all, it was a delightful barbershop musical comedy show, ending on a patriotic note, honoring those who serve America.

The chorus' saying is, “We're # Fun! –  and it consists of men from all walks of life and ages with approximately one-third of the members being retired.

Members include men who work as truck drivers, lawyers, doctors, engineers, students, contractors, administrators, teachers and salesmen who show up at practice dressed in a variety of clothing from shorts, jeans and sneakers to three-piece suits.

The common bond? These men find pleasure in singing four-part harmony and invite other men who love four-part harmony, to join them.

Men interested in joining the chorus may attend rehearsals at 7 p.m., Tuesday evenings in the choir room at Fullerton High School choir room, located at the back of Plummer Auditorium, 201 E. Chapman Ave. (corner of Chapman Avenue and Lemon Street) in Fullerton.

The OEC is under the direction of Craig Ewing, with associate directors Dennis Woodson and Tom Nichols.
